Ingredients

  • 1 cup shortening
  • 1 ½ cup sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 ¾ cup flour
  • 2 teaspoons cream of tartar
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • ½ teaspoon salt

Mix Together

shortening, sugar, and eggs thoroughly.

Add dry ingredients

Chill dough

Roll

into balls the size of small walnuts.

Roll into mixture of 2 tablespoons sugar and 2 teaspoons cinnamon

Place

2 inches apart on ungreased cookie sheet

Bake

375° for 10-12 minutes*

until lightly browned but still soft (these cookies puff up at first, then flatten out with crinkled tops)
