Tomato Sauce

Ingredients

  • 4 28 oz. cans of tomatoes, hand crushed or you can use crushed or crush ’em in the dutch oven.
  • 1/4 cup EVOO
  • 4 tbsp. butter
  • 8 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp. red pepper flakes
  • 1 tbsp. dried oregano
  • 1 carrot, whole
  • 1 onion, halved
  • 1 stem basil
  • 1 tbsp liquid aminos

Preheat Oven

 300°F

Heat

Butter and EVOO in a dutch oven over medium heat until melted.

Add garlic until you can smell it.

Add red pepper flakes and oregano

Add

Tomatoes, carrot, onion, basil.

Bring to simmer.

Season with salt and pepper to taste.

Cook

Covered, but with the lid slightly off the top to vent for 6 hours, stirring and scraping the sides every 1-2.

Finish by removing the carrots, basil, and onion.

Add aminos and salt.

Option to blend.
